Lebanese signer Assi Hilani recently released his latest music video for the song “Bab Am Yebki” (A Crying Door), which story revolves around a young man who is in grief over the death of his mother.
Assi had filmed the clip when he was going through some hard times due to his mother’s deteriorating health. Little did the singer know that the story of the clip will become his reality.
Assi is still trying to overcome his grief over the death of his mother by returning to the filming studios and try and occupy himself with work. The singer is filming the scenes for his first film. Assi will costar alongside Egyptian actress Ghada Abd Ar Razak, Sarah Bassam and actor Tareq Lutfi.
The film is written by Tareq Barakat and is directed and produced by Walid Al Tab’ei. A budget of six million Egyptian pounds has been set for the film and filming locations will be in Cairo and Hurghada.
Hilani’s music videos have earned him the reputation as a talented actor. The singer received numerous offers from Arab producers and directors for leading roles in different films and television series.
Assi described the offers as ‘tempting’ and he may give his approval to a few of them in the near future.
Assi also received an offer from the Arab satellite television network MBC to star in a historical television drama.
Recently, Hilani’s mother has passed away yesterday after experiencing severe health conditions. The singer is said to be in a state of extreme sadness.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, people from the entertainment world and outside of it came to offer their condolences.
Hilani was living in despair and worries toward his sick mother. Hilani recorded his latest song “Bab Am Bibki” (My Door is Crying) and made a video clip for it. The clip starts out where Hilani is going back home with his wife after he won an award. Then in the clip he receives a phone call that his mother just died and he becomes very sad.
Many journalists stated that Hilani recorded this song only after knowing that his mother is very sick and the song was showing his real feelings toward his sick mother, and the song is a special dedication to his mother.
