Assi Hilani postpones new release to gain more success
Lebanese singer Assi Hilani has announced that he will release his upcoming album immediately after the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. The singer came to an agreement with his production company Rotana to delay the release until the Muslim holiday Eid Al Fitr due to the fact that too many albums have been released during this period and that will reflect negatively on the success of his album.
The singer revealed that his new album will include a variety of songs sung in the Lebanese and Egyptian accents and will feature new surprises. The singer added that his new work is a shifting point in his career in the sense that he introduces a new meaning to songs and gives them new meaning.
On a similar note, a dispute had broken out between Rotana and Assi after the release of his last musical album “Forsat 3omor” (A Chance of a Lifetime). Assi was expecting a huge success for the album because he made major changes in the ideas he presented this time, but was shocked to see the opposite.
The album did not face great success, which made Assi blame Rotana because the later did not give the album enough attention and publicity. To cover this failure, Assi decided to give Future TV an extended interview to talk about his new album and he asked the TV channel to start a huge advertising campaign to promote for the interview.
During the interview, Assi sang most of the songs from his latest album, a matter that made Rotana furious to see Assi's songs broadcasted on another television channel. Rotana tried to contact Assi but he refused to talk to any official in Rotana.
Rotana tried to stop broadcasting the interview and sent an official warning to Assi on the same day of broadcasting the interview but he insisted that the interview would go on. Assi from his side called his legal advisor and told him to write an official document stating that he wanted the interview to be aired on Future channel and that he takes full legal responsibility for this action.–Albawaba.com
