Palestinian superstar Mohammed Assaf is the latest Arab celebrity to take a stand on the Syrian refugee crisis.
"The global community needs to come together and stand up for Syrian refugees," Assaf said.
As an UNRWA Goodwill Ambassador, humanitarian issues are close to Assaf's heart.
“We should take them in and protect them. These are people escaping death and wars,” said the Arab Idol star, ahead of the premiere of "The Idol," a biopic based on his inspiring journey from Gaza to being crowned winner on the talent show.
“I am not a politician and people of each country are better aware of their own problems, and I am talking with the logic of any human being.”
Assaf's comments come soon after photos of Syrian toddler Aylan Kurdi washed ashore in Turkey went viral, shocking the international community and the Arab world alike.
“I swear to God, I have not seen something like that scene. Poor child, he and his family have escaped death to face death.”
Closer to the time of the tragic incident, Assaf posted a picture of Aylan on his Facebook page with a comment cursing wars.
