Syrian actor and mega-star Ayman Zaydan is getting ready to undergo his directorial debut with a series entitled Layl El Musafereen (Night Of Travelers), a story based on Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables

In an interview with Al Sharq El Awsat newspaper, Zaydan said “although this series is my debut in the director’s seat, I am sure of its success.”

“I have an exceptional crew of the best actors, actresses and technical specialists,” he explained.

The actor added “the series takes on the concepts of justice, love, good and evil on the spiritual level.”

Night… depicts the story of a man, Shaker Al Kourani, played by Abbas El Nouri, who is wrongfully sentenced for a murder.

As the story progresses, Shaker manages to escape the prison cell, only to find himself locked up in a larger jail.

Actress Gina Eid, Rouhiah, plays a highly spiritual woman who is capable of turning evil into good and is able to come out unscathed from any situation.

Meanwhile the actor praised his younger talent, stating that he is working with a group of beginners who are rich with energy and love for the series.

“They work with passion, despite the hardships we face due to the shooting times and extensive rehearsals,” explained Zaydan, adding that “famous Arab actors would have never accepted the working conditions we are facing.”

“We have worked under the rain and snow, in deserts and we will go to 134 shooting locations for this series!” he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, the actor/now director also emphasized the success or failure of this project will determine whether he will continue directing or not. – Albawaba.com.
