Bailed Out of Jail, Mohamed Al Helou Lays Into Hakim
Egyptian singer Hakim is feeling the sting of his colleague Mohamed Al Helou.
A couple of week after being bailed out of jail, where he was sitting after allegedly bouncing several checks to business associates, Helou has been laying into fellow singers, according to ArabStar.Net.
Helou criticized popular singer Hakim of being ignorant of the importance of English vocalist Sting, in reference to Hakim’s tirade against Sting during their joint Giza Pyramids concert.
Helou accused Hakim of not knowing who Sting was, adding that Hakim probably thought Sting was a kind of foreign food. Helou added that Hakim should not have reacted in such a way to what he perceived as Sting’s shortcomings, especially since Hakim reportedly arrived late to the concert.
The miffed Hakim should have admitted his mistake and realized that the show must go on, said Helou.
Helou added that Hakim’s behavior was not strange, and was to be expected from people who were allowed to enter the world of singing without knowing anything about music or singing.
“If Hakim was a responsible person, or was aware that he would be questioned for such behavior," Helou added, “he wouldn't have stood on stage and reacted in such a way.”
Helou added that Hakim’s barrage of complaints, which was broadcast live on various television channels, had helped spoil the reputation of Egypt and its stars – Albawaba.com
