Belly dancer Dina putting the final touches on her Ramadan TV program
Egypt's reigning belly dancer, Dina is said to be putting the final touches on her new TV program, whose name has not yet been revealed, tackling the lives of several Egyptian belly dancers.
Several Egyptian newspapers reported that Dina's 30-episode program will feature all generations of famous belly dancers in Egypt, "I will start from Badi'a Masabani's generation passing through Tahiya Karyoka, Samya Gamal, Ni'mat Mukhtar, Hagar Hamdi, Huda Shamsul Deen, Zinat Alawi, Na'ima Akef reaching to our generation nowadays," the multitalented belly dancer has explained.
Dina, who reached an agreement with one of the satellite TV channels last month, added "the program will uncover many unknown secrets about the dancers' personal and business life."
Dina has faced lots of difficulties with this program, starting with the low budget the Media Production City in Egypt had given her when she first came up with the idea, and ending now with some obstacles dancers, like Suhair Zaki, Fifi Abdo and Nagwa Fu’ad, are putting her in.
Connoting glamour, grace and forbidden pleasures in her dancing, Dina, on another note, faced recently a problem with the Egyptian censorship in her latest movie, "Haramoh Fi Al Wizara" (His Wife in the Ministry).
The movie, which also stars comedian Ahmed Adam, sparked debate in Egypt as the censorship asked for the omission of five scenes where Dina appears to be dancing in an indecent, hot and seductive way. – Albawaba.com
