The administration of the Cairo TV and Radio Festival announced that the event will be held at the Media Production City during the period between July 6-10, under the banner “the Palestinian resistance of the Israeli aggression,” according to the daily al Sharq al Awsat.

The festival administration revealed that this session will include a new contest for the best TV and Radio works about the Palestinian issue.

The Egyptian specialized Cultural Channel will participate in the new contest with a number of TV works, including the film Murid al Barghuthi which depicts the life history of the Palestinian poet, shedding lights on the Arab-Israeli conflict since 1948.

The film was shot in Cairo, as the cast couldn’t go to Deir Ghassanah village and the city of Ramallah to shoot the scenes depicting the poet’s childhood, because of the escalation of violence in the Palestinian land.

The novelist Bahaa Taher and the critic Radwa Ashour, the poet’s friends, participate in the film, along with the poets Jamil Atiyya and Mohammed Saleh, who have tackled the Palestinian issue.

The film also depicts how the Arabic poem deals with the subject of the legitimate resistance of occupation – Albawaba.com
