A number young Egyptian women requested on the internet website “Face Book” that people boycott the new film “Bedoon Raqaba” (Uncensored).
The film is directed by Hani Jarjas Fawzi who made a controversial statement about the actress Randa Al Behairi who wears a Hijab (Muslim women’s head cover) in the film.
The “Face Book” posting claims that Fawzi said that “Muhajabat” (women wearing a Hijab) are “second class.”
Randa said that she is playing the role of a girl wearing a Hijab, because most girls in Egyptian society are now wearing the Hijabs.
