Canada unites Shireen and Fadel Shaker once more
This summer has so far witnessed numerous concerts by Arab singers at different festivals and private performances. A number of singers have joined hands in order to make room for one another due to the tight schedule of concerts. Among the many singers who are experiencing tight schedules and have made a point to perform together are Egyptian singer Shireen Ahmad and Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker.
According to the London based Elaph, Shireen and Fadel have recently held a live performance in Lebanon and have decided to join hands once more and perform together in the West. The two have made arrangement to hold a tour at the same time in Canada, in which they will perform in different cities around Canada in late September and early October.
Fadel announced that he will initiate the Western tour by holding a tour around different states in the United States of America then will move on to Canada where he will meet up with Shireen. Lebanon’s summer surprises for this year included a special performance by Shireen and Fadel on August 23, 2003. The two singers held their concert live on the beach in Beirut, and their concert proved to be a huge success due to the fact that both have reached a point where their popularity is expanding at a fast rate. The visit will marked Shireen’s first time in Lebanon, in which she also held a number of concerts.
Shaker has been enjoying a huge success with the release of his latest album "Ya Ghaib" (Far Away) despite the disputes he encountered regarding his latest singles. The songs "Dihkit El Dunia" (A World's Smile) and "Ma'akoul" (Could It Be True) have reached top spot in most music charts around the Arab world despite the fact that they were illegitimately released disregarding the conditions of his contract with the record company Rotana.
His popularity drove a number of devoted fans to create a website that featured news, latest events, photographs, and a personal email for the singer where people can contact him directly. The singer’s sudden rise in popularity drove a number of sponsors for festivals around the Arab world to request his appearance. -Albawaba.com
