Egyptian folk singer Shabaan Abdul Rahim has been chosen to be the host of the program Candid Camera to be aired during the Muslim Fasting month Ramadan. The singer has already filmed the different episodes of the show, which will be aired on a daily basis on the second Egyptian channel.
Shabaan has revealed that he will be presented as he is without any makeup but will take people by surprise because they will not be able to recognize him at first glance due to the disguise he will be wearing. The singer assured that the program will not include any form of violence, rather only comical instances that are aimed to bring a smile to all viewers.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the program will hold the title Candid Camera with Sha’bola. The show is expected to find great success due to the fact that people find the character of Shabaan to be a comical one.
Shabaan has revealed that he is in the process of forming a new music band with his sons. The singer stressed that he has been thinking about the idea for some time and always hoped to have a band of his own.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, the idea came to the singer after his duet with the Kuwaiti band “Maiami”, which witnessed tremendous success all around the Arab world. Shabaan noted that having his sons sing with him will surely bring him more success.
Shabaan held a concert on the Amphitheatre downtown Amman Jordan, and as always the theatre was full of people who see him as the singer of the people because of his way the words that he chooses, which are in most cases are taken from everyday life events. – Albawaba.com
