2012 'Arab Idol' winner Carmen Suleiman is swapping the spotlight for studies as she accepts a place at Cairo's prestigious Shorouk Academy.
Carmen is set to follow in the footsteps of many of Egypt's favourite stars as she gets ready to study fine arts at the Academy's celebrated International Institute of Mass Media.
News of Carmen's decision to put down the microphone and pick up the books was leaked to the public by her proud uncle. Since fans caught wind of the announcement, Carmen's Facebook and Twitter pages have been flooded with messages of good luck and congratulations.
And that's not all - many fans have said they are already praying for the songstress to graduate with honors. No pressure then!
