Lebanese fashion designer Nicola Jubran has chosen Lebanese singer Carol Samah to be the new advertising face for his new line for the year 2005. Carol had accompanied the designer to Dubai as his guest of honor at the launching of his new Spring and Summer fashion line.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, Carol is preparing to head off to India and Nepal for a vacation, which she had been waiting for the past two years. Carol revealed that she will spend her time with one of her relatives who is works with the UN on different humanitarian projects.
Samaha is placing great emphasis on her upcoming music video for the song "Nazalt Al Satair" (I Closed the Curtains), which is sung in the Gulf accent and is part of her latest album “Ana Hura” (I’m Free). The new clip is directed by Lebanese director Salim Al Turk and is based on the emotional outburst of a woman over her lover, who has left.
Carol has revealed that the new clip is her key to open the doorway to her fans in Gulf countries, who had previously expressed a desire to hear her sing in their accent, reported the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat. The song is Carol’s first attempt to sing in the Gulf accent, but she is expected to find great success with it especially since she has become a master at singing in different accents than the Lebanese.
