A Tunisian concert sponsor attempted to scam Lebanese singer Carol Samaha, making arrangements with her to hold a number of concerts around Tunisia with no intention of scheduling the concerts.
Just before her departure from Lebanon, Carol discovered that the sponsor’s itinerary was only a con.
According to the London based daily, Alsharq Al Awsat, the sponsor never arranged any concerts, and the entire deal was a not so carefully orchestrated scam. The singer immediately cancelled her trip and began preparing for the concerts she really will hold this summer in Lebanon and around the Arab world.
On a different note, Carol has nominated Laila Kanaan to direct her upcoming music video for the song “Keef Bidi Eish” (How Will I Live), her third music video from her latest album “Ana Hura” (I’m Free).
Carol’s business manager revealed that Carol had chosen Laila because she has a unique directing style and is able to distinctly portray her song.
The singer’s summer schedule is packed with concerts around the Arab world and abroad, including performances in Syria and Switzerland. The singer is also scheduled to hold a charity concert in Egypt, from which all proceeds will go directly to help cancer patients.
Carol is also working on her upcoming album, to be released this winter season. The singer revealed that the songs are all sung in the Lebanese dialect, except for one in the Egyptian.
