Carol Samaha shares her dreams with Muna Zaki

Lebanese singer Carol Samaha is currently in Cairo to hold work sessions with director Othman Abu Laban, who sent her a special invitation, to discuss singing two songs for his upcoming film “Ahlam Umrina” (Our Life’s Dreams). The director presented the singer with two songs written especially for the film, which stars Egyptian actress Muna Zaki and Mustafa Shabaan, stressing his interest in having her sing them.

According to the London based Elaph, Carol will return to Egypt within a few weeks to sing the songs, which fall under the romance genre due to the nature of the film. Carol’s voice will only appear in the film, but she will be filmed singing them in order to present the songs in the form of a video clip with actual scenes from the movie to be aired on different music channels. Carol revealed that she is also currently holding other work sessions with a number of poets and composers as part of her preparations for her upcoming album.

Samaha has denied recent circulating rumors that she was held a special guest on the American television network CNN. It was rumored that Carol was invited to talk about her journey in her music career and how she moved from being a performer on the Rahbani famous theater stage to becoming a well-known singer throughout the Arab world.

Carol revealed that she was shocked to hear such news, adding that she had never received such an invitation from any international networks. Carol announced that she is currently working on her upcoming album under the production of Mega Star. The singer refused to give out details regarding her album, wanting it to be a surprise for her audience.

Samaha had for the first time reached the number one spot on the popular show "Voda Phone Top Ten" on the Arabic music satellite channel Mazzika. Samaha is the first singer to defeat Egyptian singers Amr Diab and Mustafa Amar for the first spot since its fourteen weeks of broadcasting.

Carol also marks the first time a female singer accumulates the highest percentage of viewer votes, which reaches over 2000 every week. The latest music video "Italaa' Fieh" (Look at Me) by Carol has witnessed enormous success. The song is broadcasted at least four times a day on most Egyptian music channels. –Albawaba.com
