A Cairo Civil court has decided to postpone the hearing for Hakim and his wife lawyer Marwa Shahine divorce until mid February. The decision came after Hakim failed to be present at the hearing for a second time.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, at the trial, Marwa told the judge that she had no knowledge of Hakim's secret marriage to his secretary which led her to break out when she caught them both at her apartment. But two witnesses present at the court said that Marwa knew of the marriage and she deliberately barged in on Hakim and his second wife destroying valuable possessions of the latter's apartment.
Last week, the court sentenced Hakim and his first wife to a one week prison term with bail at the hearing over their divorce. Hakim's wife filed for divorce in November, following her husband's act of betrayal with his so-called second wife.
At the hearing, Hakim sent a request through his lawyer to solve the matter civilly and asked for reconciliation with his wife. Marwa refused all attempts by Hakim saying that what has been broken can never be fixed. She added that she intends to make Hakim pay every penny of alimony she is entitled to including the child support payments he abandoned throughout the time of their separation.
Hakim’s second wife, his personal secretary, had also filed a lawsuit against Marwa for raiding her apartment and destroying valuable personal positions. Hakim’s second wife demanded full compensation from Marwa, saying she does not intend on letting the matter pass by.
Marwa expressed resentment to her husband's 'unbearable' acts, which started a year ago with his frequent absence from home. "He used to leave us behind with no money, he showed no attention or care to me or his two kids," explained Marwa.
Hakim had assaulted his wife in a furnished apartment at the upscale neighborhood of Azzamalek, as she walked in on him and his secretary whilst 'in the act', which he later claimed to be his second wife.
Marwa told the newspaper that she insists on the divorce even if Hakim apologizes in all magazines and newspapers, "my decision is final and I'm not going to give up any of my legal rights, which might amount to one million pounds in financial compensation," said Marwa. – Albawaba.com
