In the midst of a heavy attendance from media and singing stars, prominent Lebanese singer Diana Haddad held a press conference at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Beirut to talk about her new album “Awal Marra” (The First Time), which was produced by Alam El Phan production Company. Diana explained that she was not absent for the past three years, and had released an album two years ago but it was in the Khaligi (Gulf) accent. The singer had not released it in Egypt because it would not have witnessed any success due to the accent used.
Diana revealed that she made it up to her listeners by releasing her last album, which contains 13 songs. She added that she cooperated with young talents regarding the words and the tunes to help them gain confidence and fame.
Concerning doing a duet, Diana said if she finds the right sound she won't refuse however she prefers that every singer expresses his talent solely. Diana had already filmed two songs from her new album as video clips “Awel Marra and Weili”.
Diana revealed that the rumor of her starting an acting career was not a lie but is more of a fact. Mohammed Saad, Egyptian comedian, offered her a part in one of his movies but she changed her mind at the last minute and wanted to find a better time to start her acting career, which is very likely to occur in the near future.
From her side Diana refused to comment on the new wave of porn clips and said that God gave her a great voice and she is very thankful for that.
After the press conference, Diana held a concert and sang some of her new songs. Many singing and acting stars were among the fans and enjoyed Diana's great voice. The concert was filmed for many Arab Satellite channels like Dream, Orbit, Rotana, and Mehwar.
Diana revealed that she had lost a lawsuit against a party contractor, whom she had filed a complaint against recently. Diana was demanding 16 thousand dollars as the rest of her wage and an additional 100 thousand dollars as compensation because the contractor did not fulfill his part of contract. The concerts were supposed to take place in Australia.
Immediately after the launch of her latest album “Awil Marah” (The First Time), Diana was attacked by strong rumors that state she has gotten a divorce from her husband, Suhail Abdoul. Rumors had it that the couple had gotten a divorce after she began working with a new director, instead of Suhail, for one of her music videos.
Diana denied the rumor stressing that her relationship with her husband is on great terms and that they are living a happy life together. She added that rumors have a way of always coming out when a singer releases a new work. The singer revealed that one of the biggest proofs that she and her husband are not facing any problems is the fact that he was present at the press conference she held with the launch of her album. –Albawaba.com
