Jordanian singer Diana Karazone will head to London to participate in the contest “World Idol”, which will be the first time it is held and where many superstar winners from around the world will compete to win for the grand title. Diana was chosen among 11 participants from the Arab world to represent the entire Middle East region.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Diana will be the only contestant in the contest to sing one of her own person son “Insani Ma Bansak” (Forget Me I Won’t Forget You). The contest will feature participants from 11 different countries around the world.

Diana, also known as Arab superstar, headed off to Dubai to shoot her first music video clip for the (Khaligi) Gulf song from her first album. The clip will be for the song “El Shar Barra Wi Bi’eed” (Evil is out and Far), which is composed by the famous Kuwaiti composer Abdullah Go’oud and directed by Kuwaiti director Adel Khader.

Khader had previously directed most of UAE singer Ahlam’s video clips, in addition to directing the video clip for Gulf singer Rabeh Sager entitled “Sahretna El Leila” (You Kept us Up Tonight) and many other hit songs for famous gulf singers.

Diana announce before heading to Dubai that the new video clip will be very simple and will concentrate on showing her face and new look in a very simple and beautiful way. Diana’s first video clip comes after she released her first promotional video clip “Iinsani ma Bansak” (Forget me I’ll Never forger You), which showed her in various stages in the Superstar program, which launched her career in singing.

Prominent Lebanese hair stylist Joe Ra’ed will be supervising Diana’s hairstyles during the shooting of the clip, and her outfits will be made by brilliant designer Kaled Al Masry.

Diana was the guest to many Arab TV shows, and lately was the guest of the Lebanese TV show (Qanadeel Beirut) where she expressed that she was hurt that her colleagues from the show Superstar did not attend her first album release celebration, or even took the time to call and congratulate her, except Sa’oud Bin Sultan who made the effort to attend. Diana added that no matter how busy she will be, she will attend Sa’oud’s celebration when he completes and releases his first album.

With regards to the rumors circulating stating that her voice is not as strong as people thought, and that Lebanese composer Elias Rahbani gave many negative comments about her first album, Diana stressed that the album has faced lots of criticism, specially since it was complete in such a short period, adding that people thought that the Production Company had known that she would win the Superstar contest beforehand. She asserted that if the album took a year to be released, then it wouldn’t have faced that much of criticism.

Karazone has just celebrated her 20th birthday amongst her family and close friends. Since winning the title of superstar, Diana has been witnessing a very hectic schedule holding concerts and press conferences throughout the Arab world. Diana has held interviews with some international news agencies like BBC and Bluebird, in which she talked about her new career as a singer and some of her future plans.

Karazone held her a concert in Jordan for the first time since she won the title Arab Superstar. The concert was marked with significant success witnessing a crowd of over 5 thousand. The singer sang songs from her first album, which was released last month, in addition to a number of Jordanian folkloric songs that kept the audience asking for more.

Diana announced that she will be spending the first few days of Ramadan (Muslim fasting month) in Jordan with her family after which she will head back to Beirut to be guest on numerous television shows airing during the month of Ramadan.

The first album for Karazone has so far witnessed tremendous success around the Arab world and specifically in Lebanon after the huge advertising campaign that was held by her production company. In Jordan the singer’s album was faced with pirating causing the number of sales to be not as high as expected.

Diana signed the release of her first album “Diana Karazone Arab Superstar” under the production of Warner Music and Music Master International on September 30, 2003 in Beirut at Virgin Mega Stores. A special celebration was arranged for the big event, which witnessed a very large audience all anxiously waiting for Diana to sing. –Albawaba.com
