Diana Karazone proud of her accomplishment despite loosing
Jordanian singer Diana Karazone has taken part in the contest “World Idol” in London marking the first time such an event is held and where many superstar winners from around the world competed to win for the grand title. Diana was chosen among 11 participants from the Arab world to represent the entire Middle East region.
According to the London based, Elaph, Norwegian participant Kurt Nelson won the title of World Idol, while American contestant Kelly Clarkson won second place. Diana was the only participant who had sung in Arabic, while the rest all sung in English. One of the judges noted to Diana that he questioned why she took part in the contest and her singing in Arabic was the main reason behind her loosing especially since no one understands what she is saying and in turn she did not gain any points.
Diana on her part stressed that she purposely sung in Arabic to and that her purpose was not to win but to proudly represent 22 different Arabic countries. Diana added that it's in her power to sing in any language she wants but she chose Arabic as means of showing her pride for all Arabs and the language and by doing this she is showing a strong sense of being. Diana was be the only contestant in the contest to sing one of her own person son “Insani Ma Bansak” (Forget Me I Won’t Forget You).
Diana, also known as Arab superstar, also plans to shoot her first music video clip for the (Khaligi) Gulf song from her first album in Dubai. The clip will be for the song “El Shar Barra Wi Bi’eed” (Evil is out and Far), which is composed by the famous Kuwaiti composer Abdullah Go’oud and directed by Kuwaiti director Adel Khader.
Khader had previously directed most of UAE singer Ahlam’s video clips, in addition to directing the video clip for Gulf singer Rabeh Sager entitled “Sahretna El Leila” (You Kept us Up Tonight) and many other hit songs for famous gulf singers.
Diana revealed that the new video clip will be very simple and will concentrate on showing her face and new look in a very simple and beautiful way. Diana’s first video clip comes after she released her first promotional video clip “Iinsani ma Bansak” (Forget me I’ll Never forger You), which showed her in various stages in the Superstar program, which launched her career in singing.
With regards to the rumors circulating stating that her voice is not as strong as people thought, and that Lebanese composer Elias Rahbani gave many negative comments about her first album, Diana stressed that the album has faced lots of criticism, specially since it was complete in such a short period, adding that people thought that the Production Company had known that she would win the Superstar contest beforehand. She asserted that if the album took a year to be released, then it wouldn’t have faced that much of criticism.
The first album for Karazone has so far witnessed tremendous success around the Arab world and specifically in Lebanon after the huge advertising campaign that was held by her production company. In Jordan the singer’s album was faced with pirating causing the number of sales to be not as high as expected.
Diana signed the release of her first album “Diana Karazone Arab Superstar” under the production of Warner Music and Music Master International on September 30, 2003 in Beirut at Virgin Mega Stores. A special celebration was arranged for the big event, which witnessed a very large audience all anxiously waiting for Diana to sing. –Albawaba.com
