Egyptian belly dancer Dina appeared on a show on a satellite channel to talk about the rumors of her escape from Egypt for her indecent involvement in pornographic videotapes with a businessman. In the show, Dina admitted to being secretly married to Hussam Fatih, the businessman who is now serving a jail sentence for a number of money embezzlement cases, and added she had no knowledge of any videotapes let alone of her appearance in them.
According to the Egyptian daily, Akher Sa’aa, Dina also confessed to have married three times in secrecy and twice publicly. She also announced that she intends on giving up her dancing career after all the rumors and allegations of her scandal. Dina added that she never had to flee the country for she was never involved in any legal case and was never called in for questioning. At this point the dancer burst out in tears in front of the audience saying she regrets everything she had put herself through by marrying the businessman in secrecy and by her behavior which cause her many problems.
During her outburst, the audience and viewers of the show questioned whether he show of affection was in fact a result of repentance for her actions, or was it a mean to get affection and sentiment from the audience in an attempt to appear innocent. Whatever her reason was, Dina’s repent and tears where proof that the dancer who always appeared strong and careless of what people said and wrote about her is in fact a sensitive woman who despite her love for dancing is willing to give it up to save her reputation.
Late last year rumors circulated that Dina had left Cairo-Egypt and ran-off to hide away in Paris-France after her involvement in pornographic videotapes was revealed. She had announced that she would not be holding any performances during the New Year’s Eve and cancelled all prior agreements made. A number of newspapers had said that Dina’s excuse for cancellation to most of the hotels and private parties she had contracted with was that her sister was in a sudden accident.
