Egyptian belly dancer Dina has agreed to take part in the Ramadan television drama series “Raya and Iskyna” starring Egyptian actresses Abla Kamel and Summaya Al Khashab. The drama is based on the folktale of two sisters who kill women and steal their jewelry.
Dina was nominated by director Jamal Abdul Hamid to play the role of a woman who is accused of acting as an accomplice to murder.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, Dina denied rumors that she presented a set of demands before accepting to take part in the drama. It was rumored that Dina demanded a high wage and wanted her name to appear at the beginning of the credits.
An appeals court in Cairo has acquitted Egyptian businessman Hussam Abu El Fotooh of all charges in the case against him for allegedly filming pornographic videos of his ex-wife Dina.
The court reversed the its earlier decision, a one-year prison term for Hussam, after Dina dropped all charges against him and revealed that she had consented to filming. Hence, the court ruled there was not enough tangible evidence against Hussam to convict him of filming the videos against Dina’s wishes.
The pornographic CD was filmed in Hussam’s home and office in London, and was later leaked to the public and posted on the internet.
Outside the court Hussam’s attorney explained that even if the case had went trial, an Egyptian court could not have determine if such actions are legal or not in London.
