Egyptian belly dance Dina is back to resume her career as one of the most popular belly dancers and actresses in the Arab world. An Arab website held an interview with her where she stressed that she does not care any more about being judged by critics, adding that as long as she is convinced of what she is doing then nothing beyond that matters.

What hurts Dina the most is spreading bad stories around her because that will affect her children when they grow up and may ruin their lives, and that’s why she outlined that journalists should make sure about the stories they publish before going out to public.

Dina says that her life was not easy at all and she suffered so much until she became what she is today. "Patience and self restrain are my keys to self content," Dina added. Rumors have spread that Dina retired and wore Hijab [Islamic headdress] but she said that the only time she wore Hijab was when she went to Hajj (Religious pilgrimage). Dina explained "regretfully this is always the story with the media, any artist who is away for a while for any personal reasons rumors start spreading about her that she retired and wore Hijab."

Dina revealed that there is severe shortage to professional belly dancers in Egypt, which explains why Egypt has so many foreign belly dancers. "Belly dancing is an art that existed even before humanity learned how to speak, so it’s not a new trend that will fade away." Dina added.

Concerning her acting career and why she always plays the part of a belly dancer, Dina says that this is the only roles that she is always nominated for, and she picks the best scenarios that presents the belly dancer as a good person and improves her image in society.

Dina said that the reason behind the popularity of the Russian belly dancers is that they have colored eyes and blond hair and Arab men are attracted to this kind of beauty, but Russian dancers have created a good atmosphere of competition. –Albawaba.com
