Prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki requested of writer Mahfouz Abdul Rahman to complete the script of Ahmad's next movie “Al Andaleeb”, which tells the story of the late Egyptian legendary singer Abdul Haleem Hafez. This demand came after a five-hour meeting between the two as part of the attempts of Ahmad to return to his acting career.
Zaki asserted that he is willing to work 10 hours a day in order to finish this movie, but the actor's doctors stressed that he cannot work more than 4 hours and may allow him to work 6 hours later on.
Ahmad revealed that he is so eager to do this movie because he is living a similar story in real life now. The actor is currently doing an intensive study about the life of the great singer Abdul Haleem Hafiz in order to be able to perform his character in the most accurate manner.
Earlier this month, Ahmad received an honorary award from Hiliolido club honoring him for his long and impressive acting career. Ahmed is the second artist to get this trophy; the first one was given to the late legendary singer Um Kolthom forty years ago.
Zaki has narrated his life's journey, which lasted for almost ten hours, to one of the Arab satellite television channels. The narration came in the form of a short film telling his life's story from his birth to his journey in the acting world and up until today. The filming was done between the hospital, which Ahmad is currently at receiving treatment for lung cancer, and the hotel he is residing at.
Zaki has returned to Egypt from France after a six-day therapy session, which ended with his French doctors’ decision to halt all medication for the upcoming two months. Ahmad’s doctors revealed that the actor returned with high spirits and hopes due to the fact that his health condition is gradually improving. –Albawaba.com
