Dubai Seizes ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Videos for Offending Islam

The Gulf emirate of Dubai has started to seize videos of the Hollywood movie "Charlie's Angels" for allegedly offending Islam, a newspaper reported Tuesday. 

"The film contains some objectionable portions detrimental to Islamic ideals," an Islamic affairs department source told Gulf Today, referring to a belly dance scene with the Muslim call for prayers in the background. 

"Charlie's Angels" ran in Dubai cinemas for several weeks earlier this year and the video was still available for rent on Tuesday in a supermarket chain popular with Western expats -- (AFP)
