Despite her young age and her short time in the entertainment world, Egyptian actress Dunia Samir Ghanem has announced that she is currently preparing for the release of her first album due to be out by the end of this year. The new album will be produced by the Music Production Company Free Baby and consists of a variety of songs in addition to a duet with Egyptian singer Tamer HUsni, reported the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat.
Dunia revealed that aside from her singing career she is focusing mainly on her acting career in the small screen and purposely avoiding the cinema. She stressed that the roles she has so far been offered for the cinema are minor and do not add anything to her acting career.
With regards to love, the young actress stressed that the main quality she looks for in a man is his attachment to the religion Islam, for she finds most comfort at the times she is reading from the Holy Koran. She added that she does not want an extremist but rather a person in between and someone who values family life. Dunia expressed that she is willing to quit her acting career if the man she ends up with asks her to, but at the moment she does not think of marriage for she is still too young and she is not ready for such a commitment at the age of 18.
Earlier this year, Dunia was nominated for a major role portraying the life of the late renowned Egyptian singer/actress Laila Murad in a new film. She was chosen for the part by one of producer of the film who stressed that Dunia is the perfect candidate due to her voice and acting abilities.
Dunia’s nomination for the role caused for a number of complaints made Egyptian actresses who are more experienced and have expressed their desire to portray the life of Murad. One of the actresses who was hoping to get the part is prominent Egyptian actress Yusra who expressed her disappointment that such a young actress who lacks the experience was chosen for such a major role.
Dunia’s debut was made in the TV series "Lil Adala Wujuh Katheera" (Justice Has Many Faces) two years ago; the young actress also represented Egypt in the "Megahertz" festival in Turkey, but this time as a singer and not an actress.
Dunia, the daughter of comedy star Samir Ghanem and actress Dalal Abdul Aziz, costarred in the Ramadan series "Zaman Emad Addine" (Emad Addine's Era) directed by Hani Lasheen. In the series, Dunia plays the role of young singer Fardos, who gets the attention of all composers sparking the jealousy of singer Muneera Al Mahdiya, played by her mother Dala Abdul Aziz. – Albwaba.com
