Egypt mourns Hassan Abo Al Saoud
Egyptian television has sadly announced the death of musician Hassan Abo Al Saoud, head of the Egyptian Musician Union. Hassan had passed away at the age of 58 as a result of deterioration to his health caused by diabetes and obesity.
Hassan had been experiencing sever pains and was taken to hospital, but his heart stopped beating reaching it. According to the London based Elaph, Muneer Al Mousimi, member of the Union, had verified the news of Hassan’s death and stated that the burial and funeral will take place on Wednesday April 18.
Hassan had in the past four months minimized his public appearances due to his health conditions. He has been head of the Union for the past five years and due to his sudden death a new head will be chosen within two weeks according to the Union’s law.
Hassan became known when he used to play the accordion and then moved on to composing songs for some of the most prominent singers in the Arab world.
Before his death, Hassan was able to resolve a number of distributes between individuals in the entertainment world like the one between singer Shireen Abdul Wahab and her former business manager producer Naser Mahrous.
Hassan was also known to have been active in the recent period at taking different actions against female singers who thought to be too provocative, and who released inappropriate music videos to attract viewers. Hassan had refused the submission of a number of female singers whom he categorized as being unfit.
