Egypt's musicians perform to protect cultural identity
Egyptian artists will march from Talaat Harb Square to Tahrir Square at 4pm on Thursday to call for the protection of Egypt's cultural identity, freedom of the press and freedom of expression.
The marchers will also express their opposition to the draft constitution which will be voted on in a national referendum on 15 December.
After the march, there will be a mini-festival in Tahrir Square.
There will also be poetry recitals by renowned poets Ahmed Fouad Negm, Said Hegab and Zein El-Abedeen.
The following initiatives and institutions will take part in the march and festival: The National Union for Change, The National Union for Protecting Freedom of Expression, The National Union for Protecting Rights and Freedoms of Thought and Creativity, The Coalition for Independent Culture, The Egyptian Creativity Front, The Coalition of Revolution Artists, Writers and Artists for Change, The Egyptian Cinema Syndicate, and The Egyptian Actors Syndicate.
