Egyptian ‘Gipsy King’ troupe sings at Opera House

The Egyptian Gipsy King troupe will perform a concert Tuesday evening at the Cairo Opera House open theater, according to the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat. 

The troupe will perform a number of Egyptian, Lebanese and Latin songs in addition to the latest albums by the troupe founder, Edward, who is gearing up for releasing an album entitled High Society, the second album released by him and his troupe. 

The songs to be performed in the concert include Lapompa by Ricky Martin, Linda Linda from the Lebanese folk dances in addition to Delluni A’la Oyounu al Soud, Lailo Lailo, Allah Yegazeek, Huna and Habbeit

Edward has also wrapped up two films including Bahebb al Cinema (I like cinema) along with Laila Elwi and Mahmoud Hemaidah under the direction of Osama Fouzi and Laila Fil Qamar (one night on the moon) costarring Raghda and Tareq al Tilmisani under the direction of Khairi Bishara. 

Edward formed his musical troupe in 1995 and it is considered one of the art troupes, which perform Latin and Spanish songs in Egypt -- Albawaba.com
