Egyptian Actresses Send Letter of Protest to George Bush
Members of the Egyptian Actresses Society sent the American president George W. Bush a letter expressing their protest against the Israeli criminal actions in the Palestinian land.
They said, “we the members of the Egyptian Actresses Society condemn and express our resentment of the bloody and inhuman crimes which the world’s despot and criminal Sharon commits against the Palestinian people without any consideration to all international laws.”
The society head, actress Magda al Sbahi told the daily al Ahram, “the letter was sent also to the United States Secretary of State Collin Powell and the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in addition to the International Democratic woman Union, American Filmmaker Union and European Union Presidency.”
Earlier, Egyptian director Yousef Shahin and a number of Egyptian intellectuals called on all honorable people and intellectuals worldwide for supporting the armless Palestinian people who are facing extermination campaign launched by the Israeli occupation forces, according to the Egyptian press.
“We the undersigned, Egyptian intellectuals, call on the conscience of artists, writers, intellectuals and all free people throughout the world to support the armless Palestinian people who are facing a campaign of extermination and ugly massacre launched by the Israeli occupation army armed with the most sophisticated weapons,” said Shahin and the Egyptian intellectuals.
