The Egyptian director Ahmed Maher has wrapped up shooting his new documentary film Bait al Akhar (Other’s House), Italian production, to be screened at the official contest of Milan Film Festival for African Movies which will be held on March 15, 2002, according to Akhbar al Nugoom magazine.

The one-hour film is about the September 11 attacks in Washington and New York. It depicts the extent to which any community can accept another through tackling the west reactions and its relations with immigrants after these attacks. This is in addition to the relation of Arab expatriates with the society particularly after the idea of conflict between the two civilizations has prevailed.

The film which was fully shot in Rome also depicts the reactions of politicians, intellectuals and ordinary people of various nationalities about this problem and includes Bin Laden’s messages to the Arab World and West.

Ahmed Maher who previously won a prize at Milan Festival is the only Egyptian in the cast. Maher also won a prize at the Independent Screen Festival in Qatar for his film A’lamat April (April Marks)—Albawaba.com
