Egyptian director Mohammed Abu Saif is gearing up for shooting a long narrative film which depicts the life history of the Palestinian martyr Wafaa Edris.
The film entitled al Qunbolah (Bomb) is based on the story of Mohammed Salmawi and scripted by Ashraf Mohammed. It tells the story of this women, her work with the Red Cross and transport of the Inifada wounded people.
“The story of this martyr has aroused me very much and so I will introduce her through a major film to perpetuate her heroism and her colleagues in this heroic arena of the Palestinian girl. I am still searching for the actress who can play this character,” Abu Saif told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
Meanwhile, Abu Saif is currently editing his new film Khalli al Dimagh Sahi (Keep Your Mind Awake) scripted by Muna Sawi and costarring Mustafa Shaaban, Sami al Adel and Dalia Mustafa.
Saif’s latest film has been al Na’amah Wa al Taous (Ostrich and Peacock) which is currently being screened. The film in which Liblibah, Basmah and Mustafa Shaaban costar, secured a number of prizes at the 17th Alexandria film festival and was hailed by the fans as well as the critics -- Albawaba.com
