The 7th Egyptian National Film Festival will kick off on August 12 and will continue for nine days.
Fifteen narrative films will compete for a number of prizes worth 307,000 pounds, according to the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.
The films to be screened at the festival include Shajie Al Sima and Al Ajenda Al Hamra, both directed by Ali Rajab.
This is in addition to Mohammed Abu Saif’s Batal Minal Janoob (Hero From the South), Ali Abdel Khaleq’s Yamin Talak, Sharif Shaaban’s Firqet Banat Wa Bass, Sameh Al Bajouri’s Kursi Fil Club, Khaled Yousef’s Al Asefah (Thunderstorm), Hamed Said’s Al Hobb Al Awwal (First Love), Noor Al Sharif’s Al Ashiqan (Lovers), Film Thaqafi (Cultural Film), Alashan Rabena Yihibbak (I Love You, for God’s Sake) and Short Wa Fanilla Wa Cab (Short, Undershirt and Gown).
Sixty-three films will compete for the documentary and short film prizes worth 23,000 pounds.
