Egyptian Opera House to Hold National, Artistic Celebration for Palestinians
The Egyptian Opera House will hold Thursday night a national and an artistic celebration, with the participation of a huge number of Arab and Egyptian artists, according to Kuwait New Agency (KUNA).
The income of the celebration will be assigned to offer urgent medical and humanitarian aid for the Palestinians.
The Egyptian daily al Ahram reported that the celebration will be broadcasted on 12 Arab satellite channels in an attempt to contribute in supporting the Palestinian people.
All participating artists will donate their stipend and will perform new national songs for the occasion. Among those artists will be singers Eman al Bahar Darwish, Latifa, Assala Nassri, Angham, Mohammed Tharwat, Ali al Haggar and Hani Shaker.
The celebrations will include a performance by the Cairo Opera's Orchestra, Arab Music Orchestra and Cairo Opera's Chorus. It will also include poems by Egyptian poet Abdel Rahman al Abnoudi along with his song al Quds Hatergaa’ Lina (Jerusalem will Return to Us) to be performed by more than 100 artists.
The celebration is under the patronage of the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak's wife Suzan Mubarak for the interest of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. The celebration comes as part of the efforts made on both public and official levels to provide the support for the Palestinians who are facing the worst attacks by the Israeli occupation – Albawaba.com
