Egyptian singer Naser Abdo is due in France for a TV carnival within a few days to perform a set of folksongs based on the five-note scale of Pharaonic origin, according to the daily Al Gomhuria.

The young singer from the Egyptian city of Aswan has wrapped up recording his new album, which he will take with him to Paris to be redistributed by the French band led by Wind John, who has become familiar with the music of south Egypt.

Abdo will then fly to the United Arab Emirates to perform many concerts making use of the time available to him due to the halt in shooting the American film Joseph.

The singer has been nominated to star in the film, directed by Italian director Christian Rose, which explores the important Pharaonic eras in Egypt.

Stephen George and the Lebanese actress Vivian will also costar in the film, the production of which is being supervised by Campbell Bader – Albawaba.com
