Egyptian singer performs ‘African Dream’ operetta
Following the footsteps of the “Arab Dream” operetta, the Egyptian young singer Hani Khalil began implementing a new album entitled “African Dream” by recording the first song entitled “My Second Homeland”.
The album includes 8 songs written by Khalil, composed by a group of young composers and remade by Yaser Maged.
“The success of the “Arab Dream” operetta prompted me about two years ago to think of the “African Dream”. I started writing the songs during this period inspiring them from the national developments and important cooperation among the African Unity Organization states,” the singer told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
He added, “the album main song “My Second Home” is about the unique ties between Egypt and a number of African countries.”
Khalil said he would travel to Libya at the end of this month upon invitation from the Libyan TV and the General Artists’ league in order to discuss means of cooperation with a number of singers to perform these songs in the form of a long operetta. It is noteworthy to mention that the singer implemented previously a national and romantic album -- Albawaba.com
