Egyptian television officials have announced that they forbid the appearance of Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi on all its satellite and local channels due to the fact that she failed to be present at a live show last week, which she had previously agreed on. Organizer of the program ‘Mamlakat Al Nogoom” (Kingdom of Stars) Majdi Lasheen had submitted a complaint against Muna saying that she had agreed to take part in the show and on the day of broadcasting failed to come or apologizing for being unable to.
According to the Al Watan daily, Majdi had called Muna’s business manager and the only answer he received was that the actress is in the middle of shooting scenes and is unable to make it to the studio where the show was being broadcasted. Muna had caused an embarrassment to the presenter and to the other guest, famous soccer player Ahmad Bilal. The channel had been advertising for the show three days in advance highlighting the presence of Muna and Bilal.
Doctors have requested Shalabi to refrain from speaking for at least a week, after a surgical operation she underwent in her vocal cords. The actress is now using a paper and pen to communicate with those around her. After Muna's health condition improves and she is able to speak once more, she will resume preparations for her upcoming film "Al Athab Wal Mut'ah" (Pleasure and Pain). The film is directed by David Abdul Sayed and will costar Tunisian actress Hind Sabri and a number of young actors.
Shalabi has proven her capabilities as an actress through taking part in many different cinematic and TV works that found great success among viewers. The actress has announced that she has finally been chosen by director Othman Abu Laban for her first leading role in a new film "Kawalees" (Backstage).
Muna revealed that the new film will be the first directing experience for Othman and has a budget of 5 million Egyptian pounds and is written by scenarist Mohammad Hifthi. The film revolves around a story of four good friends who suddenly encounter big problems that lead them to separate due to becoming overly jealous of one another. –Albawaba.com
