The famous Egyptian actress Elham Shaheen said that she did not consult the Church in Egypt about her new film “Happy Valentine.”
The film’s production does not require the Church’s permission, said Elham, although the Egyptian censorship committee has yet to grant permission for the production.
The story is about a Nun, Zahiyah, who calls out for forgiveness among all religions, which are about loving one another.
According to the London daily Elaph, Elham is considering paying for the film’s production expenses herself.
Elham is working on a new television drama series called “Imr’ah Fe Wartah” (A Woman in Trouble) to be aired during the upcoming Ramadan season. The series is about a woman who is wrongfully sentenced to death.
Elham’s other television drama series “Ightiyal Wazirah” (The Assassination of a Minister” has been postponed until next year, because the director In’am Muhammad Ali is filming another series. According to Elham her previous drama series “Ala Shan Ma Leesh Ghairak” (Because I Don’t Have Anyone but You) did not accomplish success because of the numerous other series that were aired on television last Ramadan season.
