The famous Egyptian actress Elham Shaheen received the award from “Al Lolah Al Sawda” (Black Pearl) for best actress.
The award was granted at the Middle East International Cinema Festival, which concluded this week in Abu Dhabi.
The award was for her role in the film “Khaltit Fawzeh” (Fawzeh’s Recipe) and the prize was US$75,000.
When Elham received the award she cried and then dedicated her award to everyone that worked with her on the film, especially Egyptian actress Hala Sudqi and Egyptian actor Fathi Abed Al Wahab.
Many celebrities appeared at the award ceremony, like Egyptian actress Yusra, Khaled Saleh, Jamal Suleiman, Solaf Fawakhriji, Mustafa Shaban and Abed Al Aziz Al Jasem.
“Khaltit Fawzeh” also stars Fathi Abed Al Wahab, Ghada Abed Al Razaq, Izat Abu Oof, Hajaj Abed Al Atheem, Lutfi Labib, Majdi Fikri, Aydah Abed Al Aziz and Najwa Fouad. The story of the film and the scenario are written by Hana Atyeh and directed by Majdi Ahmad Ali.
The story of the film is about a woman who has several failed marriages. She has a child from each marriage and is struggling as a single mother. She starts making jam and selling it to support her family.
