Due to her preoccupation with the filming of two television drama series, prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shahin turned down an invitation from the administration committee of the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The committee had chosen Elham’s film “Khali Min El Cholesterol” (Cholesterol Free) to enter the competition.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Elham expressed her disappointment at not being able to attend the festival, but stressed that it is essential and a priority for her to remain in Egypt to complete the filming of her two dramas in order to have them ready for screening during the holy month of Ramadan.
During the filming of her drama “Nar Hadi’a” (On Low Heat), Elham had felt severe pains in her sides and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Elham’s supervising doctor advised her that her appendix must be removed.
The drama has been postponed for a week until the actress regains her health and is able to continue filming.
Recently, the drama encountered problems when the Egyptian ‘Media Production City’ decided to not sign with the producer due to the extremely high salaries that were requested.
The producer of the drama explained that he requested the high salary because Elham had doubled her wage to star in the drama.
“On Low Heat” is written by Kawthar Haikal and directed by Abdul Aziz Al Sukari.
