Prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shahin has denied recent circulating rumors that she knew her colleague actress Athar El Hakim was nominated for the leading role in the drama “Ala Naar Hadi’a” (On Low Heat), which she (Elham) is currently starring in.
Elham stressed that she had no prior of Athar’s nomination or any other actress for that matter, adding that the drama had been juggled from one producer to another for the past two years until it finally came into action.
The drama is written by Kawthar Haikal and director Abdul Aziz Al Sukari.
Elham stars in two different television drama series this Ramadan season, “Imra’a Ala Nar Hadi’a” and “Al Harafeesh”.
In ‘Woman on Low Heat,’ Elham plays the role of a woman in her forties, who has been unable to marry. She works as the office manager for the Minister of Information to support her family, and is faced with cruel rumors as a result of her post.
The second drama “Al Harafeesh”, is based on the novel “Al Harafeesh” by renowned novelist Najib Mahfouz.
