During the filming of her upcoming television drama “Nar Hadi’a” (On Low Heat), prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shahin felt severe pains in her sides and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Elham’s supervising doctor advised her that her appendix must be removed. The drama has been postponed for a week until the actress regains her health and is able to continue filming.
Recently, the drama encountered problems when the Egyptian ‘Media Production City’ decided to not sign with the producer due to the extremely high salaries that were requested.
The producer of the drama explained that he requested the high salary because Elham had doubled her wage to star in the drama.
Elham shocked the committee for artist’s wages at the Egyptian Broadcasting Union when she demanded to be paid half a million US dollars to star in the television drama series. The committee felt strongly that the actress is exaggerating her salary and revealed that such a price has never been paid to any artist since the introduction of television in Egypt.
“On Low Heat” is written by Kawthar Haikal and directed by Abdul Aziz Al Sukari.
