Prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shahin has revealed that her demanding career has left no room in her life for family.
“I have lost touch with Elham the human, there is only Elham the actress,” she stated.
All of her time is spent reading scripts for either the cinema or television and filming, explained Elham, noting that once she takes on a role she is so consumed by it that she ignores everything else in her life.
Elham has already married twice, both relationships ending in divorce.
Recently Elham declined an invitation to attend the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The committee had chosen Elham’s film, “Khali Min El Cholesterol” (Cholesterol Free) to appear in the festival.
Elham regretted that she was unable to attend, explaining that she had to remain in Egypt to complete the filming of two television dramas in order to have them ready for screening during the holy month of Ramadan.
During the filming of her drama “Nar Hadi’a” (On Low Heat), Elham felt severe pains in her sides and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
She must have her appendix removed, and filming has been postponed until the actress has recuperated.
