Despite his grief over the loss of his mother, Lebanese singer Fadel decided not to call of his previously scheduled performances at the Carthage Festival in Tunisia and the Jordanian annual festival Jerash.
According to the London based Elaph, the singer’s decision was not based on contracts he had signed for the festivals, especially since there are no binding contracts between Fadel and the administrations of the festivals.
Fadel insisted on holding the performances because he did not want to through an opportunity to be part of the prestigious festivals and meet his fans in Tunisia and Jordan.
However, the singer did cancel all other prescheduled performances for the summer around the Arab world.
Shaker recently went through some very difficult times after his mother passed away. The singer’s mother had been suffering from cancer and after long journey of struggling with the disease she died.
Fadel was in London when the news of his mother’s death reached. He immediately flew back to Lebanon to take part in the funeral and requested his business manager to make a public announcement stating that he will not be holding any performances this summer due to his situation.
Fadel was very much affected by his mother’s death, especially since the two were very close.
