Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker has announced that he will for the first time throughout his career take part in the annual Jordanian summer festival Jerash, an accomplishment he feels will add tremendously to his career. The singer will hold two performances on the great Roman theater on the 21st and 22nd of July.

According to the London based Elaph, great success is expected during Fadel’s concert, especially due to the fact that all his previous concerts in the Arab world and abroad have witnessed large crowds of people all eager to hear him in action. The singer revealed that he is currently in the process of preparing for his upcoming album, marking his second under the production of Rotana.

Shaker had recently expressed extreme anger towards Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher over the award for Best Arab singer presented by the Lions Club. Fadel revealed that the prize was originally meant for him and that he had received a phone call from one of the club’s members to tell him of the prize and invite him to the big event they held.

Fadel was unable to make it to the awards ceremony due to a sudden failure in his health condition. This led the club to give the award for Best Arab singer to Kathem, due to the fact that they did not believe Fadel was really ill. Fadel had explained to the club that his condition does not permit him to appear in any public occasion and that if they did not believe him they can send a doctor to validate what he was saying. The members of the club became angry and so decided to strip Fadel of the award and give it to Kathem, who as well did not attend the ceremony.

Fadel could not understand why he was stripped of the award, which in reality does not mean that much to him, and why he was treated in such a cruel and harsh way by the club. He added that their action towards him is uncivil and unprofessional. –Albawaba.com
