The famous romantic Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker has announced his retirement. Shaker has made similar announcements previously, but asserts this time he is sure.

Fadel said that he is disappointed with the music industry in the Arab world, even though there are good artists and performers, music has became more of a business than an art.

He will first go on a religious pilgrimage to Mecca, before he sets a date for his retirement, said Fadel.

On the other hand, Fadel revealed that he is preparing for his new album, which includes songs by the late composer Baleegh Hamdi. The album also includes songs by other legendary artists, like the late Um Kalthoom, Shadya, Waradah Al Jazairyeh and the late Muhammad Abed Al Wahab. The new album will be released by the production company ‘Rotana’ this spring.
