Fairouz performs ‘Sah Al Noom’ in Amman
After it was scheduled to be performed at the Balbak Festival last year, but due to the Israeli Lebanese war it was postponed, the Lebanese legend Fairouz is getting ready to newly appear in the play “Sah Al Noom” (Sleeping Well).
The played will be performed in Amman, Jordan. Both “Al Aydi Al Waedeh” (Rising Hands) committee and “Ana Al Ordan” Company (I Am Jordan) will sponsor the play and it will be shown at the Arena Stage in Jordan National University. The play will be shown for two days on November 2nd and 3rd.
According to the London daily Elaph, the “Sah Al Noom “Play which a musical play is written by the two Rahbani brothers and it was shown for the first time in 1970 at the Damascus International Festival. Like all her work the play brought great fame to the legend singer among all audience from different countries.
The play includes fun to watch musical performance, which focuses on issues from everyday life. The play isn’t set for a specific time period or place. Most of the script is done in a rhythmic manner. Both Antoine Kirbaj and Elli Shwari who will take the place of the late Nasri Shams Al Deen will participate in the play. Fairouz’s role will be the innocent and common person who tries to fight the wicked.
The vice president of “Al Aydi Al Waedeh” Committee Nadia Al Taba’ says the goal behind having Fairouz performing in Amman is she previously was able to invite Fairouz to sing in Amman back in 2004 and the concert was a great success. All the money that was made back then was donated for good causes for those in need, and this is the major goal behind having such a famous singer as a guest in Jordan. The committee also wants to spread good art in Jordan.
Hosting the “Sah Al Noom” play is a major event sponsored by “Ana Al Ordon” Company, where in the past it hosted a great number of Arab actors and it previously invited Fairouz to Jordan. The company also hosts a number of important conferences like the International Economic Conference and the Data Technology Conference. The company sees itself as a major sector in spreading artistic and cultural events especially among young Jordanian.
It is needless to say that the Royal Jordanian, the Meridian Hotel, Fan Radio Station and Lailina and Ahla magazines will also sponsor the play “Sah Al Noom”.
