Fingers crossed for Fadel Shaker’s participation in Jarrash 2005

Negotiations are currently being held between Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker and the administration of the Jordanian annual summer music festival in Jarrash to ensure his participation in this year’s events. The administration is hoping to reach an agreement to avoid last year’s mishap, which resulted in the cancellation of Fadel’s concerts a few days prior to their scheduled date.
 
Fadel recently recorded a new patriotic tune as a special tribute to the late Prime Minister Rafiq Al Hariri, who was assassinated in February. Fadel wanted to express his love for his country and the late PM through his song “Wain Eli Amar” (Where is he who built), written by composers Ahmad and Mohammad Madi.

According to the London based Elaph, Fadel introduced the song during a performance on his US tour, broadcast by the Lebanese satellite channel Future. Lebanese singer Nawal El Zoughbi accompanied Fadel on the month long tour stopping in multiple states. The tour witnessed tremendous success due to the popularity enjoyed by both singers amongst Arabs living in the US.

Fadel is currently in Cairo where he is scheduled to meet a number of composers in preparation for his upcoming album, even though his latest album was released only a month ago. It has become a tradition for Fadel to begin recording songs for his new albums early on, in order to have a variety to choose from as their release date approaches.

The singer also plans on holding two concerts in Tunisia after his stop in Egypt, and will then return to Lebanon to shoot a new music video for one of the songs from his latest album “Saharni El Shoug.”
