The Egyptian capital will witness the birth of the first Arab Orchestra Symphony Music Festival, which will be organized by the Egyptian Opera House during the period between February 2-16.
Sixteen music composers from six Arab countries will participate in the festival.
The Opera House and festival head, Samir Farag, told AFP Thursday that “the festival will be a unique experience in the transfer of the music and other experiences between the Arab music composers.”
“The festival which needed two years of preparations will be held under the banner “Arabic Orientations” with the most prominent Arab music composers participating in the event,” added Farag.
Egypt will participate with the largest number of music composers including Rageh Daoud, Tareq Ali Hasan, Nader al Abbasi, Adel Afifi, Aziz al Shawwan, Abu Bakr Khairat, Gamal Abdel Rahim, Ahmed al Saidi and Rifa’t Garaneh. Lebanon will be the next largest participant in the festival and will be represented by Waleed Ghulmiyeh, Tawfiq al Basha, Bisharah al Khoury followed by Algeria which will be represented by Ismael bin Hobo and Amin Quaider.
Sulhi al Wadi will represent Syria and Abdel Hamid Hamam will represent Jordan while Mohammed Siddiq will represent Iraq.
Concerts will be performed at the Opera House Grand Theater and the music troupe will be led by Orchestra masters including Nagi Taha and Ahmed al Saidi from Egypt, Amin Quaider from Algeria and Ahmed Othman Siddiq from Iraq -- Albawaba.com
