Algerian singer Fula has admitted to the crime of writing a check without having a balance she was charged with in Beirut. Fula’s hairdresser, Joe Kahwaji, filed the lawsuit after she had written him a bad check for 700 US dollars. This instance marks the second time the singer is faced with such charges and despite the dropping of charges the Lebanese court had made Fula pay a fine.
According to the London based daily, Al Hayat, Fula had requested of Joe when she gave him the check not to cash it until she returned from Paris, but the he ignored her request and when he tried to cash the check it bounced. Fula’s lawyer demanded that the singer’s innocence be announced publicly especially since Joe dropped all charges.
After a series of disputes between Fula and the Music Production Company Rotana, both sides had finally made amends and everything returned to normal between them. The problems were solved after a series of phone calls by both sides and finding common grounds to make each side happy.
Fula revealed that despite the problems that arouse between her and Rotana, she cannot forget the fact that the company was behind her ongoing success and she has reached her fans through them.
Recently, Fula had filed a lawsuit against Rotana after the company cancelled her contract, demanding that she receives all her legal rights. Fula had sent a warning to the company requesting they abide by the terms of their contract, but the company had refused.
It was revealed that Rotana had warned Fula to stop bad-mouthing the company publicly and asked to reduce the wage she was receiving or else it will cancel the contract. Fula refused to accept Rotana’s conditions and in turn filed a complaint against the company.
Fula is currently negotiating an offer by another production company, which she refuses to reveal the identity of. The singer is also in the process of preparing for her upcoming album, which will be released by the new company. –Albawaba.com
