Prominent TV announcer George Kirdahi distributed a statement in Dubai to the media denying circulated rumors of him being held in detention by Saudi authorities. George expressed his feeling of bitterness for this rumor and from the people who were behind it.
According to the Saudi based daily, Al-Riyadh, George explained the whole incident in the statement by saying that he was invited to Al-Khubar city by one of the international watch manufacturers to sponsor their first shop in the middle east.
When he reached al-Rashid complex with the Swiss manager of the company, there were hundreds of people greeting them but the Saudi officials stopped the manager and asked that he present official papers giving him the permission to have such a celebration.
The Swiss manager did not have any papers to present and so George decided that the matter should be resolved in private to avoid any commotion. George requested of the two parties to join him in private and they in fact reached an understanding.
After all parties resolved their differences they returned to the scene of the celebration and the event resumed as planned. George stressed that anyone who wishes to write such rumors should investigate further into a matter to avoid creating misunderstandings. –Albawaba.com
