Ghada Rajab Wins Highest Award at Bahrain Video Clip Festival

Egyptian singer Ghada Rajab has won first prize at the Bahrain International Video Clip Festival. The jury, headed by composer Hilmi Baker, announced that Rajab had by unanimous consent won the best song award of US$15,000 for her video clip “Limatha?“ (Why?), according to Al Ahram daily. 

Rajab’s song was written by the late renowned Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani, put to music by Kathem Al Saher, while the song’s video was managed by Ibrahim Radio, directed by Sandara Nashat, and produced by the Cairo Voice Company for Audiovisuals.  

Bahraini Minister of Information Nabil Al Hamar presented Rajab with the award at a ceremony held at the Gulf International Conference Center. Egyptian Ambassador to Bahrain Mahmoud Abduljawad accepted an award on behalf of artist Najat Assagheera, who was also honored at the ceremony for her performances and unique artistic career -- Albawaba.com
